Founded by Bukky Asehinde, Bellafricana was born from a personal journey and a vision for transformation. After spending 8 years away from her hometown Nigeria, Bukky yearned for a connection to her roots. Her own struggle to find a proper platform to purchase authentic African products propelled her to create one herself.
In 2014, Bukky began testing the waters with an eCommerce platform, recognizing the need to bridge the gap between creative producers and global consumers. But it wasn’t until 2016 that the true essence of Bellafricana took shape. The realization that success for these African creative entrepreneurs demanded more than just an online store led to the creation of a supportive community, a creative family, a home for those with dreams as vibrant as their creations.
After moving back to the UK in 2021, Bukky brings with her the experience, the passion, and the drive to launch Bellafricana in the UK and support more black African immigrant creative entrepreneurs.
